Benjamin Thomas Shaw 2013

50, of Jacksonville, passed away Thursday Dec. 19, 2013. He was born to Rubye Shaw on Nov. 21, 1963, in Memphis, TN. And resided in Jacksonville, FL. Ben graduated from Fletcher High School in 1982. He married Beth Shaw in March of 1997. Ben was a loving, devoted, and loyal husband, father, son, brother, and friend. To know him was to love him and he will be missed beyond measure. Ben made a career in the automotive industry and most recently was the Parts Manager for Jacksonville Chrysler Jeep Dodge. Ben loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed camping, riding motorcycle, and boating. Ben is survived by his wife, Beth; daughter Carrie Conn and son-in-law Stewart; son Ryan Bunch; Mother, Rubye Shaw; Brother, Tom Shaw and sister-in-law Rhonda; and grandchildren Jessalyn and Milo. Memorial service will be held at Beach United Methodist Church, January 7th, 2014 at 11:00am in the sanctuary, 325 7th Avenue North, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250 


Fannie Louise Shaw Harden 2015

Fannie Louise Shaw Harden, 96, of Jacksonville, FL, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 9/23/2015. She was born on 11/6/1918, to her late father Benjamin and mother Conye Shaw, who owned a farm in Alachua, FL. She was the oldest of six children and the little mother to all of them. She worked at Cedar Hills J.C. Pennys for 28 years and left behind many friends. She had 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Ida Maggie Phillips and family; her son, Frazier and wife Joan and family; 2 sisters, Eve Mixon and family, Ruby Shaw and family and sister-in-law, Charlotte Shaw and family. She was dearly loved by all. It was hard to let her go, but she will live in our hearts and memories forever until we meet again in that glorious place we call Heaven Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm on Sunday, 9/27/2015 at Fraser Funeral Home on 8168 Normandy Blvd. Graveside services will be Monday, 9/28/2015 at 1 pm at the Thomas Cemetery in Alachua, FL.(904) 781-4314. Published in the Florida Times-Union on Sept. 26, 2015

Betty Shaw 2009

Betty L. Shaw, age 85 passed away peacefully April 1, 2009. She was a lifelong resident of Alachua, FL. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, of 56 years, Jim W. Shaw in 2002. Betty was a wife, mother and most of all a friend to all that knew her. She grew up, went to school, married and raised her family in Alachua and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She has left us with beautiful memories, the knowledge that we were loved and life learned lessons that will forever keep her in our hearts. She is survived by three children, her son, James William Shaw "Jim" (wife Annette) of Alachua, Fl., his daughter, Dr. Christiana Marie Shaw of Philadelphia, PA, another son, Joseph Robert Shaw "Bob" (wife Marilyn) of Newberry, Fl. and her daughter Merrie Ann Shaw and her son Kevin Ryan of Gainesville, Fl. She is also survived by her brother R-K. Rives "Rusty"(wife Eleanor) and their son Michael. We as a family wish to thank the residents and staff at North Florida Rehabilitation and Specialty Care Facility, located in Gainesville, Florida These wonderful people can attest to the fact that Betty never lost her smile or the ability to makes others smile. If you were privileged enough to have known Betty Shaw, please take a moment today to remember her and wish her well on her next journey. The family requests those who prefer a charitable donation in lieu of flowers, please consider the First Baptist Church of Alachua. N. W . 146th Ave. Graveside Services will be held at Thomas-Shaw Cemetery in Alachua Saturday April 4, 2009 at 10:00am with Rev. Jack Andrews officiating.
